Does the iPad really live up to it's expectations?

The iPad was released this morning and many people have finally got their hands on it. However, many questions spring to mind like:

  • Isn't it the same as an iPod touch but a 'larger version'?
  • Who would want a laptop with an operating system like this? (too brief)
  • What is the 3G coverage like and what is the monthly/yearly price for it?
Firstly, lets have a look at the features that it has to offer.

Apple claims that it will have apps like:

  • Safari
  • Mail
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Youtube
This isn't anything new to many of their customers who have owned/own an iPod Touch or an iPhone. However, Apple have stated that there is a more 'free' way to use the iPad and that it is like no other.

For 3G capabilities included, it costs an extra $130 depending on which model you chose. It comes in a variety of sizes: 16GB,32GB and 64GB. Compared to many of our laptop hard-drives now, this is very small and couldn't live up to the programs and files that we run nowadays.

Apart from that there is nothing new, it runs the same apps as the iPhone and iPod Touch but just with a bigger screen to touch and to type with, and a faster running system.
